Gravity Held in Stone – Suspended Stone Houses by Paul Dragicevic

Suspended Stone Houses by Paul Dragicevic reinterprets local stone construction through two elevated dwellings that appear to hover over the mountainous terrain of Yacanto, Córdoba. Through reinforced concrete, on-site stone, deep galleries, and panoramic openings, the project creates a powerful dialogue between weight, lightness, landscape, and contemporary rural living.

Suspended Stone Houses is a residential complex composed of two single-family homes and a shared swimming pool, completed in 2025 in Yacanto, Córdoba, Argentina. Designed by Paul Dragicevic, the 380 m² project responds directly to a steep mountainous site overlooking the Altas Cumbres, the valley, and the Sierras Chicas. Its defining architectural gesture lies in the use of cantilevered reinforced-concrete slabs and locally sourced stone cladding, creating the impression of heavy volumes floating above the hillside. Rather than occupying the landscape aggressively, the houses reduce their contact with the ground, preserving vegetation and intensifying the relationship between interior life and the surrounding horizon. The result is an architecture of paradox: robust yet delicate, rooted in vernacular memory yet transformed through contemporary structural precision.

A Pause in the Scenery – Strazik House by Gonzalez Olsina & Vega Arquitectos

Rooted in the stillness of Argentina’s Uco Valley, Strazik House is a quiet gesture of permanence—its architecture a line drawn in deference to the Andes, offering a contemplative refuge immersed in landscape and silence.

Memory and Material – The Calm Within by C2 Creative Concepts Interiors

This Key Biscayne residence by C2 Creative Concepts Interiors reimagines coastal luxury through warm woods, soft textures, curved forms, and interiors shaped around water, light, and family life. Designed as a forever home for a client moving from Texas, it offers a refined alternative to the typical sleek Miami apartment, favoring atmosphere, memory, and calm permanence.

This Key Biscayne residence by C2 Creative Concepts Interiors transforms a Florida condominium into a warm, collected, and deeply personal forever home. Designed by principal designer Camila Crispino for a client relocating from Texas, the apartment rejects the expected language of glossy Miami modernism in favor of softness, texture, natural materials, and a resort-like sense of calm. Water views, west-facing light, warm woods, sculptural lighting, handmade finishes, and curved forms guide the interiors with quiet confidence. Inspired by Key Biscayne’s slower island rhythm, the home reflects sand, sky, driftwood, greenery, and the emotional comfort of a life newly rooted by the coast. The Da Vinci of Architecture — Frank Gehry 1929–2025

Frank Gehry transformed everyday architecture into expressive, sculptural art — his daring, fluid designs rewrote the rules of modern building. His work remains a touchstone for architects and dreamers alike, reminding us what the built environment can aspire to be.

Frank Gehry was a visionary—his career spanned over seven decades and reshaped the very language of contemporary architecture. Born Frank Owen Goldberg in Toronto in 1929, and later naturalized American, he challenged orthodoxies of form and function by blending everyday materials with sweeping, sculptural shapes. His signature works—like Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and Walt Disney Concert Hall—transformed not only skylines but also how people conceive the emotional power of buildings. A recipient of the highest honors in architecture including the Pritzker Architecture Prize, Gehry maintained a relentless creative spirit until his death at 96 in Santa Monica on December 5, 2025. His legacy lives on in a rich oeuvre of buildings, designs, and an enduring influence on architectural imagination worldwide.

Soft Urban Horizon – Brickell Heights Residence by Carla Canepa Design Studio

Brickell Heights Residence by Carla Canepa Design Studio is a refined Miami apartment shaped by daylight, panoramic views, rounded forms, and a disciplined palette of wood, stone, and soft natural tones. Its broader relevance lies in the way it redefines high-rise luxury as something intimate and enduring, allowing the skyline, rather than decoration, to become the emotional center of the home.

Brickell Heights Residence is a high-rise apartment in Brickell, Miami, where floor-to-ceiling glass transforms natural light into the project’s primary architectural material. Designed by Carla Canepa Design Studio, the interior embraces contemporary warm minimalism through curved furniture, layered neutral textiles, natural wood, subtle stone, and precise black accents. The social area integrates living room, dining room, and kitchen into one continuous atmosphere, while a cylindrical timber volume anchors the curved glass corner with warmth and spatial clarity. Set within Brickell’s dense urban context, where the skyline rises over Biscayne Bay, the residence frames the city as a living backdrop rather than competing with it. Civic Structure Revealed – COAL Headquarters by Oficina de Acciones Arquitectonicas Temporales

The COAL Headquarters in Salamanca transforms a fragmented administrative interior into a calm, open, and adaptable workplace where structure, light, and material restraint define the architectural identity. Designed by Oficina de Acciones Arquitectónicas Temporales, the project demonstrates how institutional architecture can become more civic, sustainable, and welcoming through precision rather than spectacle.

The renovation of the COAL Headquarters in Salamanca, designed by Oficina de Acciones Arquitectónicas Temporales (OAAT), reimagines a 250-square-meter administrative mezzanine as a clear, flexible, and light-filled civic workspace. Located on a prominent corner facing a main avenue, the former office had gradually lost its public presence behind partitions, filing systems, blinds, and accumulated layers of daily use. OAAT’s intervention restores the spatial dignity of the headquarters through subtraction, revealing the existing concrete structure and organizing the plan around openness, visual continuity, and adaptability. A new perimeter gallery with operable lattice shutters creates an environmental buffer, filtering sunlight, views, and the relationship between interior life and the street. More than a functional renovation, the project proposes a contemporary model for professional institutions: transparent, efficient, modest in means, and deeply connected to the urban realm.

Light Made Domestic – From Darkness to Light by EMME Estudio

EMME Estudio’s renovation of this 1970s apartment turns a once-dark and fragmented interior into a serene, light-filled refuge through strategic spatial reorganization and warm contemporary minimalism. By moving the kitchen into the brightest area and using glass, wood, and integrated storage to create continuity, the project demonstrates how subtle design decisions can profoundly improve everyday life.

From Darkness to Light is a residential renovation by EMME Estudio that transforms a dark, compartmentalized 1970s apartment into a calm, luminous family home. The project is defined by one decisive spatial gesture: relocating the kitchen from a narrow interior area to the brightest zone of the apartment. Through glass partitions, pale carpentry, warm oak tones, integrated storage, and a disciplined neutral palette, the design allows daylight to move more freely through the home. Rather than erasing the apartment’s original domestic character, EMME Estudio refines it with contemporary clarity, functional elegance, and emotional restraint. The result is a quiet yet powerful reminder that thoughtful design can change not only how a home looks, but how a family lives within it.

Color Becomes Structure – Bagnolet 32 by Gruit Architect

Bagnolet 32 by Gruit Architect is a 100 m² duplex renovation in Bagnolet, France, where two existing apartments are joined through an expressive structural and chromatic intervention. Exposed concrete, a yellow stair core, polyethylene kitchen surfaces, and carefully coded color fields transform the home into a rigorous yet playful study of space-making.

Bagnolet 32 transforms two stacked apartments in a 2000s residential building in Bagnolet, France, into a 100 m² duplex organized around structure, color, and the act of architectural incision. Designed by Gruit Architect, the project converts a pragmatic domestic brief into a precise spatial experiment, where the new stair, exposed beam, and triangular slab opening become the protagonists of the home. Rather than concealing the complexity of joining two former apartments, the design makes this transformation visible through contrasting concretes, industrial materials, and a restrained but highly strategic palette of yellow, blue, pink, green, and white. Completed in 2026 for Rosa Bursztein & Mickaël Allouche, with structural engineering by IN4 and construction by Caballero, the project reflects Coralie Gruit’s broader interest in rehabilitation, material clarity, and the relationship between structure and color. The result is a compact duplex that feels both domestic and experimental, turning everyday living into a vivid lesson in how architecture can reveal change.

Geology of Light – BP by Micaela Portilla Estudio

BP by Micaela Portilla Estudio is a 33 m² concrete restroom facility in Pululahua, Ecuador, shaped by curved walls, overhead natural light, and a monochromatic material language. Designed to blend into the mountain, it reimagines infrastructure as a spatial, atmospheric, and almost ceremonial experience.

BP by Micaela Portilla Estudio transforms a 33 m² restroom facility into a quiet architectural intervention on the edge of the Pululahua crater in Calacalí, Quito Canton. Located 3,356 meters above sea level in the Ecuadorian Andes, the project serves events at the Dome and activities connected to a larger future development. Its curved concrete walls, circular overhead openings, and monochromatic palette allow the building to read less as an object and more as a continuation of the mountain. Rather than framing distant views, BP frames atmosphere: fog, cloud, moisture, shadow, and the shifting fall of light into the crater. Through restraint, mass, and silence, the project elevates a utilitarian program into a contemplative encounter with topography and sky.
