This residence is a luminous escape, a retreat sculpted for rest and togetherness beneath Miami’s golden skies.
Few locales capture the duality of serenity and sophistication quite like Sunny Isles Beach, and FL Interiors has masterfully woven this spirit into Apex Coastal Living. Situated within the prestigious Estates at Acqualina, the home was envisioned as a seasonal haven for a multigenerational family—a place of shared moments, respite, and beauty. From the onset, the design narrative centred on the breathtaking ocean views, ensuring they remained an ever-present backdrop throughout. It captures the rhythm of coastal life through graceful proportions and refined textures, welcoming its family with an ambiance of understated luxury and effortless comfort. The architectural bones of the new construction provided a clean canvas, yet FL Interiors strategically reconfigured portions of the layout. By adjusting certain walls and expanding the living zones, they were able to enhance fluidity and openness. The result is an inviting spatial dialogue between inside and out, public and private, grand and intimate.
A striking entrance sets the tone. Here, custom elements evoke a sense of artistry and welcome: a Nordic Light Stick Gold sconce by Haus of Interiors appears like a delicate golden timepiece, while a sculptural BEARBRICK ROSETTA STONE commands attention from atop its marble pedestal. The Oniros leather bench in icy grey softens the composition, bridging comfort and poise. Behind it all, a bespoke mirror subtly reflects the movement of natural light, hinting at the openness that lies ahead. Beyond the foyer, the main living area unfolds in a grand, continuous gesture. Defined by Striato Bianco white marble flooring and flanked by sheer curtains, this luminous space seamlessly unites the lounge, dining, and kitchen. A taupe-gray Brace bookcase introduces depth without visual clutter, while light grey walls offer a calming palette. The dining area is anchored by Poltrona Frau’s leather-clad Archibald chairs, which balance sculptural elegance with ergonomic grace. The kitchen, fully open and designed for both efficiency and sociability, flows effortlessly into the surrounding zones—an architectural embrace for a large, lively family.
Adjacent to the terrace, a dedicated family room provides a more casual enclave for entertainment. It’s here that FL Interiors leaned into functionality, introducing a glass shelf wall that doubles as both display and storage for fine dinnerware. Bespoke cabinetry blends seamlessly into the architecture, reinforcing the home's holistic language of custom refinement. A standout feature is the expansive terrace, conceived as two distinct areas: a generous living zone ideal for sunset gatherings, and a more intimate nook furnished with a bistro table and armchairs—perfect for morning coffee or journaling by the sea. These outdoor extensions reflect the same attention to detail and comfort as the interiors, underscoring the designers’ commitment to experiential luxury.
Within the private quarters, the master suite offers a deeper layer of elegance. Here, FL Interiors introduced a lacquered Brace-colored headboard wall accentuated with vertical gold metallic strips, lending the room a sense of height and quiet glamour. At its center, a bookmatched stone insert in soft beige and gray forms a subtle triangular motif—textural, refined, and unmistakably unique. Targeted lighting, with sculptural pendants and functional reading sconces, frames the bed in soft illumination. An open walk-in closet, fitted with Molteni wardrobes, continues the story of bespoke craftsmanship, cleverly incorporating mirrored panels for both function and depth. In the en suite master bathroom, the designers prioritized serenity. The bathtub, placed at the brightest point of the room, allows the homeowner to soak while gazing out at the ocean—a moment of true indulgence grounded in simplicity.
Elsewhere in the home, the theme of balance continues. A guest bathroom boldly pairs black and white for dramatic contrast, while the youth and guest bedrooms reinterpret the home’s palette in playful, tactile ways. The former combines dusty pink and grey, with a headboard wall that cleverly uses geometric panels and wallpaper to create rhythm and charm. The guest bedroom maintains this language but tempers it with a more refined palette. Its soft pink and grey tones are elevated by lacquered panels, indirect lighting, and golden reveals—details that infuse the space with modern luxury without overwhelming the senses. Even utilitarian spaces such as the studio and walk-in wardrobes are not spared from thoughtful design. The studio serves as a multifunctional enclave—part workspace, part creative retreat—where privacy and inspiration coexist.
What sets Apex Coastal Living apart is not merely its luxurious appointments or its enviable location. It’s the sense of harmony it achieves: between function and form, openness and intimacy, art and utility. Every decision, from material selection to spatial organization, reinforces a narrative of togetherness and ease. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, the design remains committed to preserving it—guided by principles of sustainable development and a deliberate effort to reduce the environmental footprint.
FL Interiors has created more than a home—it is an atmosphere. A place where natural light is as integral as marble underfoot; where custom pieces tell stories of artisanship; and where the design enhances the rhythm of daily life without ever imposing upon it. In every detail, from custom furnishings to spatial flow, the project reflects a thoughtful connection between comfort, family, and the timeless elegance of coastal living.
