Every successful interior project begins long before fabrication. Behind every custom closet, contemporary kitchen, or architectural millwork installation lies a carefully coordinated network of manufacturers, distributors, designers, builders, and material specialists whose decisions ultimately shape the finished space. That collaborative process was vividly demonstrated during the 2026 Closets Conference & Expo in West Palm Beach, where professionals from across Florida gathered to discover emerging products, exchange expertise, and strengthen the relationships driving the industry’s continued evolution.

Among the event’s exhibitors, Laminates & Things presented an installation that functioned less as a conventional trade show booth than as a curated materials library. Rather than simply displaying catalogs, the open layout encouraged architects, designers, contractors, and cabinetmakers to engage directly with an extensive collection of decorative surfaces, engineered panels, laminates, wall systems, and specialty finishes. Visitors compared textures, explored color palettes, discussed fabrication techniques, and evaluated applications with company representatives, transforming product specification into an interactive design experience. The display reflected a broader shift occurring throughout the interiors industry. Increasingly, professionals are seeking coordinated material ecosystems instead of isolated products—solutions capable of supporting every stage of a project, from concept development through fabrication and installation. Laminates & Things responded to that demand by presenting decorative MDF panels, anti-fingerprint surfaces, wood veneers, three-dimensional panels, acoustic solutions, slatted wall systems, Technomatt finishes, and a growing collection of architectural wall profiles developed through its partnership with Turkish manufacturer Gizir Wood Products.

"Where every surface becomes an opportunity to transform function into beauty, and every material tells the beginning of a new design story."

“We’ve been in business for 35 years and we’re always innovating new products,” explained President Jose Sena during the exhibition. “This year we’re exhibiting wall profiles, one of our newest product lines from our partner Gizir in Turkey.” Those new wall profiles became one of the booth’s principal attractions, illustrating how decorative architectural elements are increasingly moving beyond traditional cabinetry into feature walls, hospitality environments, residential interiors, and commercial spaces. Their introduction also reflected the importance of international manufacturing partnerships in expanding material choices available to North American designers.

Gizir Wood Products Export Manager Ali emphasized that philosophy while presenting the company’s expanding portfolio. Beyond the newly introduced wall profiles, the manufacturer showcased decorative MDF panels, anti-fingerprint finishes, wood veneer collections, and three-dimensional surfaces developed for architects, interior designers, and cabinet manufacturers seeking greater creative flexibility. The partnership illustrates a growing trend within today’s specification market: combining international manufacturing capabilities with regional distribution networks that provide technical expertise, inventory, and customer support close to project sites. Rather than operating as separate businesses, manufacturers and distributors increasingly function as integrated collaborators serving the broader design community.

"The strongest architectural solutions emerge when global innovation meets local expertise, creating spaces that are both timeless and deeply personal."

The exhibition also highlighted how trade events continue to serve as important platforms for education rather than simply product promotion. Throughout the day, the Laminates & Things booth hosted continuous conversations as visitors handled samples, compared finishes, discussed installation methods, and explored practical applications across residential kitchens, closets, hospitality projects, and commercial interiors. These interactions reinforced the value of tactile material exploration in an increasingly digital design environment. Equally significant was the company’s announcement of its continued expansion in South Florida. CEO Victoria Sena shared plans for a new showroom and warehouse in Kendall, complementing the company’s longtime Hialeah headquarters. The investment reflects not only the company’s continued growth but also the increasing demand for accessible specification resources within one of Florida’s most active construction and design markets.

Walking through the exhibition floor, one recurring message became clear: the future of interior architecture depends as much on collaboration as it does on innovation. Materials alone do not define exceptional spaces; the relationships connecting manufacturers, distributors, designers, fabricators, and builders are equally essential to achieving successful outcomes. The 2026 Closets Conference & Expo demonstrated that this collaborative ecosystem continues to evolve through new technologies, expanded product categories, and international partnerships that broaden design opportunities without sacrificing local expertise. Exhibitors such as Laminates & Things illustrated how material specification has become increasingly holistic, giving professionals access to coordinated solutions rather than isolated components.

As interior architecture grows more sophisticated, events like the Closets Conference & Expo remain valuable opportunities to experience emerging materials firsthand, exchange technical knowledge, and strengthen the professional networks that ultimately shape the built environment. In many ways, the most important product introduced at the exhibition was not a panel or profile, but the continued collaboration that enables innovation to move from the factory floor into the spaces people inhabit every day.
