Designed for a retired couple who divide their time between Florida and Chicago, the full renovation reimagines their primary residence as a serene, minimalist retreat. Collaborating closely with general contractor Complete Home Improvement and sourcing furnishings from Wassers, designer Maca Carrera embraced soft woods, airy whites, and subtle textures to craft a home defined by comfort and quiet sophistication. Each space—from the custom kitchen to the spa-like master suite—was tailored to the clients’ routines, blending modern refinement with traces of their familiar Midwestern warmth.
