A Refuge of Sophistication – Townhouse by Simon Hamui Studio

From the very first moment, the townhouse designed by Simon Hamui Studio in collaboration with Gantous Arquitectos presents itself as a haven of sophistication and well-being.

The combination of meticulous architecture and detailed interior design creates an atmosphere of calm and exclusivity. Each space has been conceived with its own identity, where craftsmanship and material selection elevate the living experience to an exceptional level. Upon entering the residence, the attention to detail is immediately evident in its striking sucupira wood door with metal and leather accents, setting the tone for the refined aesthetic that defines the rest of the project. The main floor, designed for socializing and entertaining, features two living rooms, a dining room, a guest bathroom, a kitchen, and a terrace. At first glance, the guest bathroom stands out with its hand-painted Porter Teleo wallpaper, an elegant stone sink, and a pendant lamp by Apparatus Studio, elements that reflect the meticulous selection of pieces throughout the house.

The main living room serves as the heart of the house, centered around an iconic fireplace designed by the studio. With a Smoky Cristallo stone top and a blackened steel structure, the fireplace not only adds warmth but also acts as a focal point that visually connects the interior with the terrace, where custom furniture pieces are surrounded by lush greenery. The harmony between textures and materials creates a sense of continuity and effortless sophistication.

On the same floor, a library with an acoustic ceiling provides a tranquil retreat. Its versatile design incorporates an adjustable electric bar, allowing the space to transform from a workspace into an elegant bar. In the dining room, prints by Damien Hirst add an artistic touch that reinforces the individuality of the space, while the palette of natural and luminous materials compensates for the limited natural light, creating a serene and welcoming atmosphere.

The second level houses a private office that embodies the fusion of functionality and design. With a wood desk enriched with leather and metal details, along with an acrylic, stone, metal, and glass table, this space reflects the bespoke nature of the residence. The TV room and the master bedroom follow this theme, featuring a custom-designed bed by Simon Hamui Design Studio, crafted with materials such as alpaca, linen, nubuck, wood, and metals, ensuring luxurious comfort and rest.

The third floor maintains the same level of detail, featuring a second office designed to meet the user’s specific needs. Its custom-designed desk integrates graphic compartments that optimize functionality without compromising aesthetics. Also on this level are three secondary bedrooms, each personalized to reflect the personality of its occupant. These rooms include custom-designed beds, en-suite bathrooms, closets, and private terraces that enhance the connection with the outdoors.

Finally, the rooftop emerges as a space dedicated to recreation and well-being. A pickleball court, gym, and spa transform this level into an urban oasis where physical wellness and leisure find a perfect balance. The close collaboration with the clients allowed every design element to be carefully considered, resulting in a residence that blends pure volumes, noble materials, and custom-made furniture in a harmonious composition.
