About this story
London Design Festival and L-Acoustics will present immersive spatial-sound works inside Wapping Hydraulic Power Station, marking the first cultural programming there since the historic industrial building came under the custodianship of Glass Castle Foundation. Max Cooper’s Feeling Is Structure, adapted from a Royal Albert Hall commission, treats sound as an inhabitable environment. Chris Watson’s Trent Falls follows the Humber estuary through layered environmental recordings. Works by Hollie Buhagiar and Helen Lyon will also appear during selected programming.
Status and timeline
The Art of Sound runs September 11–15, 2026 as a London Design Festival special project. Admission is free but requires advance ticketing.
