The completed Danish development moves 3D concrete printing beyond isolated prototypes into regulated, budget-constrained multifamily housing, while testing cement-free printed components with sharply reduced embodied carbon.

Skovsporet comprises 36 ground-level student apartments arranged as six clusters of six homes around courtyards, gardens and paths. Units of approximately 39 to 50 square metres contain a kitchen, study area, lounge, bathroom and sleeping space. Most printed walls use D.fab concrete containing FUTURECEM and are combined with timber and conventional building systems. The bicycle shed incorporates cement-free MEVOcem printed elements reported to reduce carbon emissions by 84 percent compared with traditional concrete. Printing beds were positioned to preserve approximately 90 percent of the site’s existing trees.

Status and timeline

Construction was completed after a 12-month build, and the village was inaugurated August 28, 2026. The first students are scheduled to move in during September 2026.
