About this story
The Museum of Science & History released updated exterior renderings for its future five-story, approximately 125,000-square-foot riverfront home. The museum is planned with ten exhibits occupying 50,000 square feet, a café and community programming and event spaces. SmithGroup and the museum team are continuing to develop the structure, envelope, interiors, building systems, life-safety requirements, site connections and exhibition components.
Status and timeline
The project has reached 60-percent design schematics and entered Downtown Investment Authority review. Construction documents are expected to reach 100 percent later in 2026, with groundbreaking anticipated in early 2027.
