Mexico’s federal Secretariat of Culture is supporting MEXTRÓPOLI 2026 through the Profest program. The announced program includes 12 lectures, three exhibitions, specialized visits and routes, public-space pavilions, a light installation and roundtables. The festival expects a broad audience of professionals, students, creatives and residents.
Status and timeline
MEXTRÓPOLI runs September 17–20, 2026. Ticketed lectures begin September 18, and public pavilions open in Alameda Central on September 19.
Design highlights
The theme “Movimientos” uses architecture and the city to examine change and movement through public debate, exhibitions, installations, tours and temporary structures. Public-space highlights include the winning Arquine competition pavilion El Muro and installations by universities and design teams.
