Kimpton Ashbel completes residentially scaled Park Avenue hotel renovation

This is a timely New York interiors opening in a 1928 building, with a design strategy that treats a 205-room hotel as an elegantly curated townhouse rather than a conventional Midtown property. It offers a focused hospitality story about domesticity, art and material warmth at commercial scale.

About this story

Kimpton Ashbel is an open, newly renovated 205-room hotel on Park Avenue. Busta Studio’s interiors use art, furniture and objects to create the character of a warm private residence within a 1928 Beaux-Arts building. Public spaces include a residentially arranged lobby and Park & Bel, an all-day lobby-level café. The hotel contains guest rooms and suites, including balcony and spa-suite configurations.

Status and timeline

Renovation is complete and the 17-floor, 205-room hotel is open. Kimpton is promoting a grand-opening offer for stays through September 7, 2026.

Design highlights

A townhouse-inspired hospitality interior; residential furniture groupings; curated art and objects; organic warmth within a formal Park Avenue building; intimate public spaces set back from Midtown’s visual and acoustic intensity.
