The Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers have released the first exterior renderings for their proposed shared arena, which will also house Philadelphia's forthcoming WNBA team. Populous and Moody Nolan are designing the privately funded venue at the former Spectrum site. The architecture reinterprets the Spectrum's recognizable rounded form while aiming to create a technologically advanced, experience-driven sports and entertainment venue. The owners say community surveys, focus groups and public review will continue as the design advances. Comcast holds future naming rights, although a formal name has not yet been announced.
Status and timeline
Exterior renderings were unveiled September 8, 2026. Design development, community engagement and public review are continuing. Opening is targeted ahead of the Philadelphia WNBA team's 2030 inaugural season and the corresponding NBA and NHL seasons.
