About this story

Excess! On the Overconsumption of Living Space was selected to represent Luxembourg at the 20th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. Curators Bùi Quý Sơn and Paul-Antoine Lucas, co-founders of Hanoi-based critical spatial practice Exutoire, and Luxembourg housing researcher and activist Céline Zimmer propose examining inequitable consumption and distribution of living space in relation to housing and ecological crises. The project will bring the contexts of Luxembourg and Vietnam into dialogue and explore sharing space and resources. Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg and LUCA—Luxembourg Center for Architecture are the appointed commissioners; Exutoire is credited with the visual identity. The official pavilion page lists the exhibition dates as May 8–November 21, 2027.
