Durham, North Carolina, United States
About this story
Corgan has acquired and welcomed Duda|Paine Architects, the Durham practice founded in 1997 by Turan Duda and Jeffrey Paine. Corgan says the addition strengthens its office and higher-education expertise and expands its access to the Research Triangle’s innovation, academic and research markets. Turan Duda will continue with the combined practice; Jeffrey Paine retired in 2025. Morrissey Goodale advised Corgan.
Status and timeline
The acquisition was announced as completed on September 1, 2026. Duda|Paine’s team joins Corgan and establishes the latter’s first Durham-area presence.
Design highlights
The editorial opportunity is organizational rather than project-specific: preservation of Duda|Paine’s design culture within a substantially larger multidisciplinary platform, and the effect of consolidation on regional practice and succession planning.
