About this story
Cleveland Clinic has opened two research buildings totaling approximately 300,000 square feet and containing nearly 30 laboratories and core-service areas. A roughly 170,000-square-foot northeast building accommodates specialized laboratories and growing research programs, while a roughly 120,000-square-foot northwest building houses specialty research facilities and shared advanced technologies. The buildings also contain collaborative areas, classrooms, offices and a café. New greenspace, landscaping and walking paths establish an entrance to the southeast portion of the main campus. Cleveland Clinic Buildings + Design worked with HOK Architects and Vanderweil Engineers; Gilbane was construction manager.
Status and timeline
Cleveland Clinic announced the completed opening on September 2, 2026. Both buildings are operational components of the Cleveland Innovation District.
