About this story

The 20th Buenos Aires International Architecture Biennial is organized around HABITAR, a curatorial framework examining past, present and future ways of inhabiting the planet. The distributed program returns to the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and Centro Cultural Recoleta and expands to the Biblioteca Nacional, Museo Nacional de Arte Decorativo, MARQ and Casa Victoria Ocampo. Exhibitions include architectural responses to Antarctica, Iberá, collective housing, timber, high-rise living, César Pelli and Diana Balmori, contemporary European architecture and international practices.

Status and timeline

Programming begins September 22, 2026 and continues throughout October, with individual exhibitions extending into November.
