In a softly spoken design language, the Kastin Residence unfolds like a choreography of emotion: warm, restrained, reflective. Under the direction of Elizabeth RDesign, every space breathes balance—where design doesn’t shout, but whispers.
From the moment one enters, the residence establishes an atmosphere of refined restraint. The entryway acts as a visual prelude: a floating white oak niche console accompanied by a full-height mirror, framed with fluted detailing, introduces texture and rhythm. A warm pendant casts a cozy glow, while darker interior walls bring intimacy—subtle, yet memorable. The palette—bright, wood-toned, and gently contrasted—sets the tone for the entire home: a visual symphony of balanced oppositions. In the living room, luxury is expressed through restraint. A softly textured wallcovering adds depth behind a custom floor-to-ceiling lacquered structure that seamlessly integrates the fireplace. Flanking shelves in floating white oak provide warmth and visual balance. At the center, a bespoke white oak coffee table—with a circular inset of glass—grounds the seating area. Sculptural and unexpected, it adds a refined touch that feels both integrated and singular.

Texture becomes a vehicle for emotion. Through thoughtfully chosen textiles—cushions, upholstery, and layered fabrics—the room embraces softness and cohesion. The patterns remain subtle, allowing the serene palette to take precedence, and enhancing a sense of quiet sophistication. The kitchen unfolds in a clean, contemporary language. Lacquered cabinetry is paired with open shelving in white oak, building a dialogue between polished surfaces and organic materiality. A bold architectural gesture—fluted black paneling wrapping both the hood and the island—adds rhythm and sculptural presence. Countertops in marble-look porcelain marry elegance with resilience, offering a surface that is both family-friendly and visually expressive, with dramatic black veining and hints of ochre warmth.

It is the dining room, however, that emerges as the emotional centerpiece of the home. Challenging in layout and devoid of natural light, the space could easily have felt secondary. But under the vision of Elizabeth RDesign, it becomes a poetic retreat. Matte black wall paneling envelopes the room in intimacy, while an arched architectural detail frames a lush garden wallpaper—transforming the wall into an imagined window. This wallpaper is not merely decorative—it is central to the spatial experience. Its lush, nature-inspired motif introduces atmosphere and dimension where none previously existed. The illusion blurs boundaries between indoors and out, infusing the room with vitality and quiet drama. This bold use of wallpaper is a defining gesture in the design, embodying the project’s spirit: thoughtful, immersive, and deeply emotive. Layered in earthy tones and tactile finishes, the dining space feels cocoon-like and grounded. It is a place for gathering and reflection—elevated through design that privileges feeling over formality. In many ways, it encapsulates the ethos of the home: intimate in scale, expansive in imagination.

Beyond the formal elements, the Kastin Residence succeeds because of its emotional clarity. Every line, surface, and transition reveals a quiet confidence. Elizabeth RDesign avoids visual noise, instead allowing architecture and materials to unfold with calm precision. There is no excess—only what is necessary, purposeful, and poetic.

At the Kastin Residence, contrast does not disrupt—it defines. Darkness enhances light, texture deepens silence, and boldness is measured through intention. Elizabeth RDesign’s hand is both precise and empathetic—guiding the space with restraint, generosity, and clarity. The result is a residence that feels profoundly lived-in, yet artfully composed.
