Victorian Warmth – DICE Headquarters by Tatjana Von Stein
Located in East London, the headquarters has been meticulously designed to evoke a homely feeling, with warm tones and tasteful details extending throughout the space. For Phil Hutcheon, CEO of DICE, providing an inspiring environment for employees was essential, avoiding flashy and impractical office designs prevalent in the market. "I didn't want another office; I wanted a space where people felt inspired," he expressed.
Inspired by the philosophy of Italian designer Gae Aulenti, who believed in the transformative power of occupants in a space, Tatjana von Stein, Creative Director and Founder of Sella Concept, kept the focus on the people who would use the space, ensuring that each design met their needs and preferences.
"The ground floor features an open-plan design that encourages sociability and flexibility, with the ability to transform into an event area as needed. Integrated seating among a curved metal wall concealing a kitchen and bar creates a cozy atmosphere, while a DJ booth on a central platform facilitates the company's monthly talks program"
The first and second floors house workspaces and meeting rooms, while the top floor offers a serene environment for research and reading, complete with a well-stocked library of books and vinyl records.
Sella Concept designed bespoke furniture crafted by British artisans using responsible materials such as cotton, stainless steel, and wood. Vintage pieces were incorporated to add an extra layer of warmth and personality to the office space.
