Modern Design – MSPorthorses Stables by Matias Zegers
Situated within a 3-hectare site, MSPorthorses Stables is part of a collection of vernacular structures, seamlessly integrated into the natural landscape. Designed to house show-jumping horses, the facility combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design principles.
Constructed primarily from laminated timber, the stables feature a gable roof design, allowing ample natural light to flood the interior throughout the year. The large opening running along the length of the stable regulates the amount of natural light entering the space, with a concentration at the center where most activities take place.

The roof's geometry is subtly complex, with variations in ridge width creating an asymmetric curvature along its surface. This design element, coupled with the exterior layer of metallic tiles, allows daylight to reflect off the roof, showcasing different hues of its "satin bronze" color.
