Architecture is the thoughtful creation of spaces that embody the cultural richness and cosmopolitan flair of Miraflores, Lima.
The Miraflores Project aims to make visible the current moment of Lima, particularly the neighborhood of Miraflores, where the city’s rich cultural density intertwines with cosmopolitan customs. This vibrant mix is evident across all facets of society, from literature and decoration to cuisine, reflecting a unique blend of tradition and modernity.
Sophistication is the guiding concept for the Miraflores Project. The challenge was to design a building that not only reflects these values but also stands out as the premier residential structure in Lima and a reference point in South America. This involves integrating the cultural roots of Miraflores with modern architectural practices to create a space that is both innovative and respectful of its surroundings.
The design process involved a thorough exploration of international design fairs and showrooms to find materials and elements that align with the project’s vision. The goal was to enhance every known aspect of residential living, from the facades and interior spatiality to the apartment configurations and the elegance of the details and materials used.
The Miraflores Project is about creating meaningful connections between its residents, their immediate environment, and the broader city of Lima.
The building’s design ensures that all facades are active and engaging, avoiding blank walls and respecting the surrounding environment. The architecture features a complex and segmented image, recognizable and open to multiple interpretations. Each of the eight apartment typologies has unique features, expressing individuality while contributing to a cohesive overall appearance.
The ground floor is entirely open and transparent, integrating seamlessly with the city. It includes common areas that visually connect with the neighborhood, showcasing the activities within and creating a welcoming entrance. This transition from public to private spaces is designed to enhance the living experience.
The rooftop offers a large communal terrace with 360° views, providing residents with a space to enjoy the cityscape and the Pacific Ocean. This level includes areas for recreational activities and social interactions, promoting a vibrant community atmosphere.
Facade design considers Lima’s climate, using structural solutions to optimize sunlight and shading. Thermal comfort is achieved through discreetly integrated climate control systems. Exterior surfaces are clad in Travertine marble and glass, while interiors feature the same marble alongside local woods, enhancing the building’s character and sophistication.
