Classic and Contemporary – Príncipe by Raúl Martínez Padilla and Diego Méndez

The building housing this stunning penthouse is a testament to Madrid’s architectural evolution. Built in 1900 and renovated in 1935 by the renowned Dominguín family of bullfighting fame.

Its corner façade and impressive windows exude a majestic air that honors its legacy. This historic context not only adds heritage value but also enriches the contemporary design vision implemented by the creative team. The rehabilitation strike a balance between this architectural heritage and a modern, functional outlook. The penthouse’s two terraces are a true privilege in the heart of Madrid. They feature a thoughtful and understated approach that enhances the views without detracting from them. These outdoor spaces not only extend the living area but also provide a touch of nature in the urban landscape, with 360-degree panoramas that include the city’s historic rooftops and bustling streets.

"With panoramic views of Madrid and a design that honors its historical legacy. Every space is crafted to inspire and connect."

From the moment you step into this residence, the selected materials speak of quality and sophistication. Natural stone and oak dominate the palette, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere. The grand doorways to the reception areas, crafted in high-gloss stained oak, showcase artisanal mastery and add a distinctive touch to the spaces. These materials not only provide texture and depth but also connect the various areas of the home under a timeless design language.

The living room, the heart of the penthouse, stands out for its minimalist and austere design that gives all the attention to the breathtaking views from its corner windows. Earthy tones dominate the decor, creating a visual continuity with the oak flooring, whose color is subtly mirrored on the ceiling for an understated yet impactful effect. The furniture, curated by Tristán Domecq, adheres to this restrained elegance, with a vibrant green sofa adding a pop of color that energizes the otherwise serene space.

"Príncipe is the perfect harmony between the classical and the contemporary, a penthouse that celebrates architecture and design at their finest."

One of the most iconic elements of the home is the staircase connecting its two levels. Designed by Raúl Martínez Padilla, this architectural piece transcends functionality to become a true work of art. Featuring Catalan vaulting and a brick balustrade coated in stucco, the staircase combines organic forms and sinuous lines that add dynamism and uniqueness to the vertical flow of the penthouse. This sculptural structure not only physically connects the floors but also establishes a visual dialogue that infuses the home with character and cohesion.

The penthouse’s three bedrooms are havens of tranquility, designed in a neutral palette that enhances the sense of serenity. Minimalist design is paired with stone accents, such as the bedside tables in the master bedroom, which add texture and maintain aesthetic continuity. Each room invites relaxation, striking the perfect balance between simplicity and sophistication.

On the upper terrace, a glass-walled pool elevates luxury to a new level. This feature is not only functional but also acts as a visual focal point, amplifying the experience of enjoying the views while surrounded by water. The pool’s integration into the design reinforces the idea that this penthouse is more than just a home—it’s a space to experience the city from a unique perspective.

This penthouse offers more than just a place to live—it’s a retreat where every corner tells a story.
