Central to the design concept was the fusion of two distinct yet complementary styles: the richness of vintage elegance and the clarity of minimalist modernism.
The client's inspiration images featured deep green hues, velvets, and ornate details, evoking a sense of classic refinement. At the same time, they were drawn to modernist pieces with clean lines and simplicity. Arei Interiors embraced the challenge of merging these contrasting styles, crafting an interior that resonates with both textural depth and refined restraint. The integration of natural elements played a significant role in enhancing the design's warmth and organic feel. Walnut millwork, which extends from the entrance, to the music room all the way to the living room, adds a layer of richness to the home. This material choice not only grounds the interior with its warm tones but also creates a seamless flow throughout the main living spaces. The use of natural stone for the dining and coffee tables introduces an earthy sophistication, further accentuated by the ample natural light that permeates the condominium, lending a soft glow to the meticulously chosen materials.
The functionality of the home was as crucial to the design as its aesthetic. Every decision was driven by the goal of creating spaces that are practical for daily living while maintaining a luxurious atmosphere. The transformation of the underutilized den into a multifunctional foyer, complete with a floating bench, exemplifies this approach. This redesign not only improved storage solutions but also created an inviting entryway that encourages more frequent use. The new wellness room, conceived as a tranquil retreat, offers a calming environment ideal for fitness, and self-care.
The key design features bring a distinctive character and enhance the space. The kitchen, previously defined by its black countertops, is transformed with the use of Silestone, a material that adds a sense of greater cohesion and warmth. The Capellini dining table, crafted from natural stone, becomes a striking focal point that perfectly harmonizes with the custom walnut millwork. In the living area, an MDF Italia sofa anchors the space, chosen for its balance of comfort and style, while an award-winning coffee table from Artefacto, combining Murano glass and stone, adds an artisanal and sophisticated touch to the setting.
The choice of materials was integral to achieving the desired ambiance. Silestone countertops in the kitchen, luxurious wool rugs, and accents of Murano glass, metal, and mirrors add depth and texture, ensuring durability and elegance in equal measure. The condominium's color palette was carefully curated, featuring muted greens and terracotta tones complemented by natural wood elements and touches of black. This blend promotes a warm, tranquil atmosphere that permeates every corner of the home. Lighting was thoughtfully integrated into the design to enhance both functionality and atmosphere. Ambient and task lighting ensure well-illuminated spaces for everyday activities, while accent lighting highlights the architectural features and curated design elements, fostering a sense of intimacy and warmth.
The renovation came with its challenges, particularly in harmonizing the diverse styles and maximizing the functionality of smaller spaces. The design approach involved carefully balancing the vintage and modern influences to create a cohesive aesthetic. For instance, the wellness room was designed with serene materials and soft lighting, ensuring it fulfilled the client’s desire for a calming environment. The den was reinvented as a multifunctional space, blending storage solutions with a welcoming foyer aesthetic. The results exceeded the client's expectations, with the transformed interiors reflecting their vision and lifestyle seamlessly. They were particularly pleased with the new wellness room and the multifunctional den, both of which serve practical and aesthetic purposes. The thoughtful design choices enhanced the living area's sense of spaciousness and flow, creating an environment that fosters relaxation and interaction. The Elysee Condominium renovation not only improved the home's functionality but also elevated its aesthetic appeal. The considered use of multifunctional furniture, such as the organic-shaped sofa and floating bench, optimizes seating and storage while contributing to the overall spatial experience. The cohesive color palette, natural materials, and custom elements come together to create an interior that is both inviting and stylish, perfectly tailored to the client's needs.
