A Sanctuary of Color – Ritz-Carlton Sunny Isles by FL Interiors

It is a sanctuary of light and color, where interior design becomes an extension of the ocean horizon. The sea breeze and natural light stream through expansive windows, casting vibrant reflections onto a carefully curated palette.

Every element was conceived to honor the grandeur of the surroundings, achieving a perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The apartment was acquired as a second home, a vacation retreat for its owners and their closest friends. The goal was clear: a space where daily routines dissolve, and the ocean view becomes the true protagonist. Unlike many Miami clients who tend to prefer neutral and minimalist aesthetics, this family embraced bold colors. FL Interiors’ proposal became a celebration of the ocean’s vibrancy, translated into interiors with great personality.

The primary inspiration came from the sea and its endless spectrum of blues. From the softest, most ethereal tones to the deep intensity of navy hues, every shade evokes a sense of calm and sophistication. The visual connection with the water is constant, reinforced by the fluidity of the design and the selection of materials that reflect light organically. Additionally, the magenta accents serve as a counterpoint, introducing a subtle energy that enlivens the composition without disrupting its harmony.

One of the challenges was maintaining the apartment’s architectural layout while preserving its functionality and spatial fluidity. The only structural intervention was the addition of a semi-permeable wooden partition, visually defining a more private and cozy TV area without compromising the openness of the space. This solution adds warmth and structure while maintaining the connection with the exterior landscape.

The furniture and finishes reflect the project’s philosophy: a balance between sophistication and comfort. Wood introduces texture and warmth, while stainless steel elements and lacquered cherry veneer surfaces reference the building’s nautical aesthetic, evoking the elegance of a luxury yacht. Each piece was selected not only for its aesthetics but also for its ability to integrate into the space’s visual narrative.

Natural light plays a central role in the apartment’s experience. Expansive windows frame the landscape, while reflective surfaces enhance the sense of depth. During the day, the interior is bathed in varying shades of blue, shifting with the sun’s intensity. At night, artificial lighting highlights the warmer tones, creating a cozy atmosphere perfect for relaxation and contemplation. This project is a testament to the power of color in interior design.
